Our History

Meridian Consulting was founded by a small group of experienced HR and organisational development professionals who believed that many traditional corporate training models were no longer effective in the modern workplace. Having worked across government agencies, multinational corporations and private consulting firms, the founders observed that many organisations focused heavily on weaknesses, compliance and rigid performance management, often creating environments driven by fear, competition and burnout rather than long-term growth and collaboration.

The founders of Meridian Consulting wanted to introduce a different approach centred on strengths-based development, emotional intelligence and team cohesion. Rather than viewing workplaces as zero-sum environments where only a small number of individuals succeed, the firm believed high-performing organisations are built through trust, complementary skillsets and collective capability. This philosophy became one of the core foundations of the company’s leadership and workforce development programs.

In its early years, Meridian Consulting worked closely with small businesses, public sector teams and community organisations across Australia, helping leaders better understand communication styles, team dynamics and employee engagement. The firm incorporated frameworks such as DISC Assessment, strengths-based coaching methodologies and collaborative leadership models to help organisations move away from highly hierarchical and disciplinary workplace cultures. Over time, Meridian developed a reputation for delivering practical and human-centred training that balanced accountability with empathy and long-term capability building.

As workplace expectations evolved following the COVID-19 pandemic, Meridian Consulting expanded its focus into hybrid work environments, leadership resilience and psychologically safe workplace cultures. The company recognised that many organisations were struggling with disengagement, staff turnover and fragmented teams in increasingly digital environments. In response, Meridian developed tailored workshops and advisory programs focused on communication, adaptability, team trust and sustainable leadership practices in modern workplaces.

Today, Meridian Consulting continues to work with organisations seeking to create healthier and more collaborative workplace cultures. The firm remains committed to the belief that organisations achieve stronger long-term outcomes when they invest in people’s strengths, encourage diverse perspectives and foster environments where teams succeed together rather than competing internally for recognition. Through this philosophy, Meridian Consulting aims to help businesses build not only stronger leaders, but stronger and more connected teams overall.
